Blount Library Board Minutes December 2025

Members Present:

  • Jessie Frank, director
  • Kirstin Brown
  • Beth Chase
  • Paulette Green
  • Melissa Willey
  • Lisa Swaciak

Absent: Terri Werwinski, Aimee Agett

The meeting was called to order at 6:00__ pm by _Lisa Swaciak_.

The Secretary’s report was previously submitted via email by _Paulette Green_. Kirstin Brown motioned to accept it and Melissa Wiley seconded. The motion was carried.

The Treasurer’s report: No report to review. Budget review will take place in January. Both Lisa and Pam’s signatures are required at the bank to move money to a CD. They will take care of this when Pam returns to town.

The Director’s report: Jessie Frank had the following to report:

  • The IOOB made a $500 donation to be used at Jessie’s discretion. She will be purchasing non-fiction kids books.
  • Small turn out for the town tree lighting event. Lisa and Melissa hosted a craft table that about 14 kids utilized.
  • Hopefully the parking lot will be cleaned out this week.
  • Permission was granted to use the funeral home parking lot when needed.
  • Ornament making with Bonnie on the 11th was cancelled due to inclement weather.
  • About 21 attended the paint night on the 15th with Aimee Stanbro. Will possibly do a spring event.
  • Library business has been slow. Will brainstorm ideas to draw people in.
  • Holiday Hours: Closed 12/24-12/28, reopen on the 29th. Closed 12/31 and 1/1.

Melissa Willey moved to accept the director’s report. Beth Chase seconded. Motion carried.

Communications:

  • A thinking of you card was sent to Judy Heron at Eden Heights.
  • Get well wishes were sent to Karen Lippert.
  • A Christmas card was sent to Marge Riggs who is in a nursing home in Pa.
  • Thank you sent to the IOOB for their donation.

Grant Committee:

  • Applied for a $1000 2025 Mini Outreach Grant through CCLS. Received a partial grant that will be used for self-care packages for adults and children to be handed out on Food truck Fridays.

Old Business:

  • Policy review is ongoing.

New Business for next meeting:

  • Budget review
  • Policy review

Beth Chase moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:12 PM and _Melissa Willey seconded it. The motion was passed.
